Switzerland!

Swiss chocolate, swish cheese, Swiss Alps, what's not to love about Switzerland?  Maybe the high prices, but that's about it.  The next stop on our road trip was Zurich.

Day 3 of our Euro Road Trip: Zurich
Once we found our hotel we headed out on our adventures.  We took public transportation, a must in Europe, and it appears the Swiss have some odd rules when riding the tram.
Apparently you can saw the bench off, but you can't fart?
Our first stop was the opera house.
Next, we walked up the Limmat River and tried to find the Swiss Alps.
It was a cold day in May

While walking along the river we found the Grossmunster, which is the most famous cathedral in Zurich.
We climbed the tower's wooden stairs to the top

It was so cold that we decided to stop for some Swiss hot chocolate.  We went to Confiserie Sprungli, which has been a chocolate shop in Zurich for over 150 years.  It has delicious chocolate.  We bought a box to take home with us!
Birthday cheers to Justin on his 26th birthday!
It was still a bit rainy and cold, so we went to a pub to celebrate Justin's birthday and stay warm!

We went back to the hotel to hang out a bit more and the waiter there gave Justin an assortment of Swiss treats for his birthday!

Day 4: Zurich and Geneva
The next day was much warmer, so before leaving for the next stop on our road trip we decided to walk around the Limmat River again
There's those Swiss Alps!

Then, we went to a restaurant named Swiss Churchi where we enjoyed some yummy cheese fondue!  Greg decided to be the odd-man-out and ordered meat fondue instead.  Let's just say he had a rough experience cooking his meat in the hot oil.
The waiter at the hotel from the night before recommended this place. He said to look for the cow on the roof, which was a bit confusing at the time, but once we found the place we completely understood.  Thanks for the helpful landmark!

Zurich was a beautiful Swiss city!  Alas, we had to venture on to our next stop: Geneva.  It was a gorgeous day so we walked along the Le Rhone River for a bit.
Jet d'Eau
Brunswick Monument
We couldn't spend much time in Geneva, but the small area that we saw was gorgeous.  We enjoyed seeing the large fountain and the monument.  Traffic in Geneva was a bit crazy, so we were happy to head on our merry way!
